1. SEALS FAUNA RESERVE
   

   This Reserve protects the “Otaria Flavescens” Seal and it is considered unique as it only houses males (around 800 of them). A municipal decree declared this seal to be Marine Natural Monument of Mar del Plata as the species has a historical, esthetic and scientific value for the city. Location:  Southern Breakwater (Escollera) of the Port.

                  LAGUNA DE LOS PADRES


                                        


 It is a small lake located about eight miles west of Mar del Plata and rougly one mile east of Sierra de los Padres' hills. The name of the lake  as well as of the hills nearby has origins in the Jesuit Fathers (padres).

   The lenght of the lake is about 2,055 (6884) and a wight of 1701 mt (5670 feet).
The aquatic flora is algaes, rushes another species.
The place has been open to public since 1964.

Fishing is the main recreational activity.The lake also hosted rowing events during the 1995 Panamerican Games.
You can walk with friends and sunbathe next to the lagoon.

Alternatives include the populous central beaches (Bristol,Popular,Punta Iglesia,Las Toscas), the calmer water by protecting breackwater (Varese and Cabo Corrientes), the traditional beaches of La Perla hich form small pots beetween  breakwaters with a "T" (north); those frequented by surfers (Playa Grande) the broadest (Punta Mogotes), the forest sourrounded (Alfar) and the naturist (South of Chapadmalal).
In private spas and inns south of the Faro de Punta Mogotes it is possible to reach the sea in 4 x 4 vehicles and trace the waves in rubber boats, jet skis or sufboards and windsufing. Also you can enjoy excellent cuisines and waterful sea views, dance till down and enjoy musical performances.
Beaches in Mar del Plata are characterized by gentle slope; they offer shade, food and recreation; and they provide lifeguard service for the safety of swimmers.

Aquasol is a water park, it is fantastic and very fun. Aquasol has many slides, it is located in the 386 km of modern highway 2 only 15 minutes from the city of Mar del Plata, main tourist destination of summer in the country.                                                                                                                                                                                                                  One of the best slides is "Poseidòn".Aquasol has restaurants, pools, car parks, changings rooms and  places for children and babies. Aquasol  has a big artificial wave pool and you can surf there too! 

To get to Aquasol, take route 11 to Santa Clara, take the roundabout to the junction. Upon reaching route 2, you can see Aquasol, which is located few meters to the right
